The mission of the Center for Drug Discovery is to identify and advance promising drug candidates from the Washington University community with emphasis on four sets of activities:
- Identification & Prioritization of Promising Projects
- Education & Project Strategy
- Implementation & Project Management
- Facilitation of External Partnering
The task of identifying projects is conducted in partnership with established University partners, including the Institute of Clinical & Translation Sciences (ICTS), the Skandalaris Center for Interdisciplinary Innovation & Entrepreneurship and the Siteman Cancer Center.
The Center works closely with the Center for Research Innovation in Biotechnology (CRIB), which identified a need for academic participation in drug discovery in light of industry consolidation.
